2 Lorain men stabbed in Amherst early Thursday morning

Two Lorain men were stabbed in the area around South Main Street in Amherst early Thursday morning, according to the Amherst Police Department.

Amherst police responded to the 200 block of South Main Street around 1 a.m., where they found a 28-year-old man from Lorain with apparent stab wounds in the parking lot of a bar. 

Police said bar patrons and officers provided first aid to the victim.

According to police, while investigating the scene, officers found a blood trail that led to the inside of an estate store on the same block.

Officers found more blood and a broken door window and heard a man shouting for help from inside, police said. Officers entered the building and found a 27-year-old man inside who had also suffered stab wounds.

Both victims were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center via helicopter, according to authorities.

The condition of the two victims is unknown at this time and no suspects have been named, according to police. The incident is currently under investigation.
