VERMILION, Ohio — Police are assisting a family in finding their dog that went missing after a house fire broke out Friday in Vermilion, according to the Vermilion Police Department.
The fire occurred at a residence near Roanoke Drive and Regina Drive. Three dogs were evacuated from the house by the Vermilion Fire Department Fire Chief and neighbors who were assisting, police said.
One of the three dogs, Shelby, became frightened and ran away, according to police.
Police said witnesses have spotted Shelby in the area of Sunnyside Road, Shady Lake Drive and the Vermilion Farm Market.
Shelby is extremely skittish and will run if approached. Police ask that anyone who spots Shelby not attempt to go after her, but rather call the police so they can advise her owners and they can get her back home.
