VERMILION, Ohio — Vermilion residents affected by flooding are getting some help from the Lorain County Board of Commissioners.

Republic Services are providing four 40-yard dumpsters to assist in the cleanup.

Earlier this year, residents along the Vermilion River experienced heavy flooding and ice damage.

Now that the ice is starting to melt, there are a large amount of sticks, logs and trees left strewn across the area.

In addition, there are sections and pieces of boat docks that have been destroyed.

Some property owners have started removing debris, however, there is still a large amount of material laying on the ground.

The dumpsters will allow residents to remove more items left behind following the flooding.
