ELYRIA, Ohio — A 19-year-old woman in Elyria is facing multiple charges for the fatal stabbing of another woman early Friday morning.
The suspect, Eboni R. McElroy, has been charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence, according to police.
The stabbing happened in the 1800 block of Middle Avenue just after 7:30 a.m., authorities said.
The victim, later identified as Isis Deray Bennet Jones, 20, of Elyria, was treated on scene and then transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to police..
Authorities didn’t say what prompted the alleged attack.
McElroy is currently being held in the Lorain County Jail without bond. She has a court hearing scheduled for May 11, authorities said.
This was the second fatal stabbing in Elyria in 24 hours. On Thursday, a 33-year-old woman was killed.
