MEDINA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 55-year-old Brunswick woman was killed when another vehicle crossed over into her lane and struck her vehicle on US 42 in Medina Township Wednesday.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded at 10:11 a.m. to a head-on crash on US Route 42, just south of Remsen Road.
An investigation revealed that a 22-year-old man from Medina was traveling northbound on US 42 in a Cadillac Escalade when he went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail, traveling left of center and striking a Chevy Malibu traveling in the southbound lane of Route 42.
The driver of the Chevy Malibu, identified by troopers as Christine Morrison, 55, of Brunswick, was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner’s office. Morrison was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
The 22-year-old man, who was not wearing his seat belt, was transported to Medina General Hospital with incapacitating injuries. He was later taken to Akron General Hospital.
Troopers said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
