MEDINA, Ohio — On Thursday morning, cars of families began lining up at the Medina County Fairgrounds just after 4 a.m. to hold their place in line to receive a box of food from Feeding Medina County's drive-thru distribution.
The organization provided a week's worth of meals to families in conjunction with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
According to their website, one in five children, no matter their age, in Medina County do not have reliable access to food.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the members of the National Guard assisted with the drive-thru due to volunteers forced to stay at home for health reasons.
Any family who is planning to attend the drive-thru should bring a photo ID and empty the trunk of their vehicle.
Attendees are also being asked to stay inside their vehicles while on site to keep workers and volunteers safe.
The drive-thru distribution is being held from 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.
