A two-car crash on U.S. Route 224 is being investigated by the Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Police said the crash occurred on Tuesday around 7:16 a.m. A 2002 Subaru Outback was traveling eastbound and lost control, crossing over the centerline. The Subaru then hit a 1999 Ford F350 that was traveling westbound.
The Subaru was driven by Frank P. Eklich, III, 43, of Mogadore. Eklich died at the scene. Police said he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Ford was driven by Stephen M. Condos, 53, of Mogadore. Condos had non-life threatening injuries and was taken by Suffield Township EMS to Akron City Hospital. Condos was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but speed and weather conditions may have contributed.
The crash is still under investigation.
