LaShaun Sanders and Sarah Marsh were shot and killed in Ravenna Wednesday and police are still looking for their killer.
Police were called at 2:23 p.m. for a report of a shooting at 6684 Henderson Street.
Sanders, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. Marsh, 32, was taken to University Hospital where she later died. She was six to ten weeks pregnant, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
"It just doesn’t even seem real, it doesn't seem real that he's gone," said Sanders' sister, Patricia Jones. "For him to be killed the way he was, it's just senseless."
Sanders and Marsh have a 13-year-old son together. Jones said Marsh was a sweetheart.
Police identified the shooter as 25-year-old David Darnell Calhoun Jr. He was released from prison in April after serving time for armed robbery.
He goes by the street name "D-Block" and was last seen running away from the shooting on foot.
Family members aren’t exactly sure what led to the shooting but say Calhoun had an argument with the couple a month ago.
His sister and mother said they’re broken hearted over the loss of LaShaun and Sarah.
"Shaun was, he was sweet, it's killing me that was my baby, he was my only son, plus he was my baby, I'm so torn up inside,” said Sanders' mother Marcia Patton.
"I just hope that they catch who did this and he definitely gets what he deserves,” Jones said.
Anyone with information regarding Calhoun should call Portage County Sheriff's Office at (330) 296-5100.
