CANTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — One person has died following a three-car crash on State Route 43 in Canton Township Monday morning, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Bryan Chaddock, 51, of Dellroy, one of the drivers involved in the crash, was pronounced dead by the Stark County Coroner at about 3:25 p.m. on Monday.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol were notified of the three-vehicle crash that happened at around 8:20 a.m. on State Route 43, just south of Otto Street.
A preliminary investigation reveals a 2006 Ford Freestar, driven by a 21-year-old woman, heading northbound on State Route 43, rear-ended Chaddock’s Jeep Wrangler, causing the Jeep to go left of the center line and into the path of an Audi that was heading southbound on State Route 43.
After hitting the Audi, the Jeep rolled over and stopped on the passenger’s side. All occupants of the vehicle involved were wearing seat belts.
All the occupants inside the three vehicles were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Chaddock later died from his injuries.
The crash caused the northbound lane of State Route 43 to be closed for several hours. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash, troopers said.
