LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a 60-year-old man was killed Saturday while riding his motorcycle in Lawrence Township, located in Stark County, according to a release from the state troopers.

The crash happened at around 9:10 p.m. on State Route 93 near mile post 12.

Troopers said Edward J. Rohr, 60, of North Lawrence, was traveling southbound on State Route 93 on a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control of the motorcycle while maneuvering a curve.

His motorcycle overturned on the roadway. Rohr was ejected from the motorcycle, causing him to slide into the northbound lane.

A 28-year-old driver from Akron heading northbound on State Route 93 struck Rohr.

State troopers said Rohr received fatal injuries from the impact. He was transported from the crash scene to Aultman Hospital by Canal Fulton police, where he was pronounced dead.

Rohr was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol is believed to be a factor, OSHP said in the release.

The crash remains under investigation.
