Authorities from the Stark County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man in connection to a fatal hit-skip that killed a woman over the summer while she was walking in Canton Township.
Alex M. Mound, 22, of East Canton, was arrested on Thursday with help from the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for a fatal hit-skip that happened on July 14, deputies confirmed in a news release.
He was charged with four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, one count of failure to stop after an accident, one count of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse, or combination, and one count of driving under suspension.
An investigation revealed Brianna M. Lilly, of Canton, was walking in the area of Mapleton Street Southeast and Dalemont Avenue Southeast in Canton Township when she was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
Lilly was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.
