A SWAT standoff in Jackson Township that lasted over four hours has ended, according to authorities.

Earlier today, police asked residents to stay inside their homes as SWAT handled a situation in Stark County.

The standoff started at around 11 a.m. at a home on the 4980 block of Highsaddle Avenue NW in Jackson Township, authorities said.

Police say they responded to the home for a medical call and the suspect threatened to shoot officers upon their arrival.

The suspect then barricaded himself in his home, causing police to ask residents in the immediate area to stay in their basements if possible or evacuate. Then SWAT responded.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail.
