PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle in Perry Township early Saturday morning.
Around 12:53 a.m., a 2003 Harley Davidson FXDL motorcycle was driving north on Sherman Church Avenue just south of Whipple Avenue. While going around a curve, the man operating the motorcycle, later identified as 24-year-old Garrett Richards, lost control of the motorcycle and drove off the left side of the road, according to troopers.
The motorcycle then overturned and struck a utility pole, troopers said.
Richards was partially ejected from the motorcycle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
The crash remains under investigation.
