15-year-old boy killed, two other teens injured in Akron shooting

A shooting left two teens injured and one teen killed in West Akron on Sunday, according to law enforcement sources.

The shooting happened in the 460 block of Noah Avenue around 11:30 p.m.

A 15-year-old boy, identified as Tyrone Phelps, died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The two teens who were shot were 13 and 19 years old, according to the report.

No further information was released on the conditions of the other teens. The number of suspects involved in the shooting is unknown at this time.

The Mayor of Akron and the police chief are planning a 4 p.m. conference to address the recent violence in the city.

Police have responded to multiple robberies, assaults, shootingsandhomicides in the past week.
