GREEN, Ohio — A 29-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on I-77 in the city of Green late Monday night, according to a release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s response team responded at around 9:40 p.m. to a crash on I-77 south near the Massillon Road exit.
Investigators learned a 29-year-old male from Jackson Township in Stark County was riding a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle on I-77 southbound at an “extreme high-rate of speed.”
The motorcycle struck a 1995 Chevy, S10 driven by a 46-year-old man, who was also traveling on I-77.
After the motorcycle struck the Chevy S10, it continued south on I-77, in which it struck a Jeep driven by a 27-year-old female.
The 29-year-old man died from his injuries in the crash and was transported to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The driver of the Chevy 10 was transported a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
Investigators said speed was a factor, but at this time it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were also factors in the crash. The 29-year-old was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
