Seven people were killed in an early morning house fire in Akron.

The family identified the victims as follows:

  • Dennis Huggins (father)
  • Angela Boggs (mother)
  • Cameron Huggins, 1 years old
  • Alivia Huggins, 3 years old
  • Kylle Huggins, 5 years old
  • Daisia Huggins, 6 years old
  • Jered Boggs, 14 years old

Firefighters tell News 5 all of the victims were found in an upstairs bedroom.

Crews responded to the corner of Fultz and Hite streets around 2:50 a.m. and found the home fully engulfed in flames.

The Akron fire chief said crews were at the home within five minutes of the fire being reported.

“We are unable to use the stairway, the stairway is completely burned through. Our crews are using multiple ladders to see what they can find in the bedroom area," Lt. Sierjie Lash of the Akron Fire Department told News 5 shortly after they arrived at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Firefighters are unable to confirm whether there were working smoke detectors in the home.

Just last year, a house fire down the street claimed the lives of two people.
