CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — With the COVID-19 pandemic putting a hold on milestone moments in high school seniors’ lives, Cuyahoga Falls High School has planned a unique graduation experience in lieu of a traditional ceremony while keeping students and families safe from the virus.
On Tuesday, May 19, Cuyahoga Falls High School is holding the Class of 2020 Celebration “Honk-Out” Parade at Blossom Music Center.
Graduates and their families will travel in their vehicles along a designated route. Before the parade begins, the vehicles will be decorated and have signs hung from them honoring the students.
A playlist for the parade as selected by the graduating class and will be played on the radio over the school’s station 96.1 WCFI-FM.
While the graduates and their families will have to remain in their vehicles, they have found a way to feel together while staying apart.
Following the parade, a virtual commencement ceremony will be held for the Class of 2020 on the school's YouTube page.
In addition to the parade, the school has created a gift registry for the senior class. Those looking to celebrate a senior can purchase a gift through the online registry. Once the school receives 350 gifts, the number of seniors in the Class of 2020, a raffle will be held to make sure each student gets a gift.
