Two arrested for allegedly stealing thousands worth of items from MAPS Air Museum during tour

The Summit County Sheriff's Office said two suspects have been identified and arrested for allegedly stealing merchandise worth several thousand dollars from a museum in the City of Green.

On Oct. 3, two men entered the MAPS Air Museum, 2260 International Parkway, for a museum tour.

The two men stole items including helmets, goggles, oxygen masks, helicopter controls and other "irreplaceable" items, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office. The merchandise was worth several thousand dollars.

The sheriff's office released photos of the suspected thieves Monday morning. By Monday afternoon, the office confirmed that suspect had been identified and arrests had been made.

A museum official confirmed that the arrested suspects were juveniles. 

MAPS Air Museum is an internationally-recognized museum of aviation. It features educational displays, a collection of acquired artifacts and exhibits telling the history of aviation in Northeast Ohio.
