An Akron woman was charged with felonious assault after she allegedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend and hit the woman she found him in bed with on April 10, according to officials.

The suspect was identified as Veronique Washington, 43.

Washington's ex-boyfriend claimed she no longer lived with him in the Whitney Avenue residence where he was stabbed, but Washington said she was living there and got into the house with a key, Akron police said.

Once in the home, Washington got a kitchen knife, according to a police statement by her former boyfriend. She then demanded to fight his girlfriend and started stabbing him. Washington also threatened to kill the girlfriend, the statement said.

The man had stab wounds to his right hand and right foot along with small cuts on his face and the suspect had a visible scratch along the left side of her face, according to police. Police determined that Washington was the primary physical aggressor.

In Washington's daughter's police statement, she said that her mother had been drinking.

Washington was charged in 2010 for a fatal hit-skip of a hitchhiker on the Lakeshore Boulevard ramp to Interstate 76 eastbound on Sept. 10, 2009, according to Akron police.

In the 2009 hit-skip, Washington left the victim, identified as John James George, of Akron, in the road and another vehicle struck him afterward, but that driver stopped, according to police. Washington was charged with hit and skip and tampering with evidence.
