Interstate 76 westbound will be closed in Akron over the weekend between the I-77/Central Interchange and State Route 59/Akron Innerbelt for bridge repairs and bridge deck overlays, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation
The closing begins Friday at 8 p.m. and continue through Monday morning at 6 a.m.
The announced detour is I-77 southbound to I-277 westbound to I-76 estbound/Kenmore Leg.
ODOT stated the following ramps will be closed during the same time period of May 13 through May 16 as a result of the I-76 closure:
- The ramp from I-77 northbound to I-76 westbound will be closed. The detour will be I-277 westbound to I-76 eastbound/Kenmore Leg OR SR 8 northbound to SR 59/Akron Innerbelt.
- The ramp from SR 8 southbound to I-76 westbound will be closed. The detour will be I-77 southbound to I-277 westbound to I-76 eastbound/Kenmore Leg.
- The ramp from South Main St. to I-76 westbound will be closed. The detour will be S. Main St. to I-277 westbound to I-76 eastbound/Kenmore Leg.
- The ramp from Broadway St. to I-76 westbound will be CLOSED. The detour will be. Broadway St. to Thornton St. to Main St. to I-277 westbound to I-76 eastbound/Kenmore Leg.
