NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — A second man was arrested for the fatal shooting of a man in New Philadelphia.
According to police, Sajjadd Butler, 19, and Tequan Franklin, 22, fatally shot Gaven Carlisle, 22, on March 5.
Police said Franklin and Butler met Carlisle near the 600 block of 11th Drive NW to do a drug deal, and Carlisle ended up being shot and killed.
Butler was arrested that day in Canton.
Franklin was arrested on Thursday in the Cleveland area after he fled the Canton area.
"The successful arrest of this violent fugitive was due to the strong partnerships between local law enforcement and the US Marshals Service in northern Ohio," US Marshal Pete Elliott said.
