13-year-old girl hit by car near Wayne County Fairgrounds

WOOSTER, Ohio — A 13-year-old girl was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after she was struck by a car near the Wayne County Fairgrounds.

According to the Wooster Police Department, the crash happened around 8 p.m. near the intersection of West Liberty and Vanover streets.

Authorities say the girl was crossing the street when she was hit by a vehicle heading east on West Liberty Street.

EMS transported the girl to a nearby hospital. She was last known to be in stable condition, authorities said.

The 29-year-old driver was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
