WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio — Two convicted sex offenders wanted out of Utah for failing to register their addresses were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force Wednesday morning.
Maigan Tatro and Caleb Steiner, both 38, were charged with violating the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, according to authorities. Both have prior offenses involving minors in Utah.
Last year, authorities in Utah found that the two were not living at addresses they previously registered. The U.S. Marshals joined the investigation and the two were later tracked down at a trailer park in the 10000 block of Lincoln Way, just outside Orrville. The U.S. Marshals Service obtained federal warrants for their arrests and they were taken into custody.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Dalton Police Department assisted in the investigation.
“Two predators from Utah thought they could use Ohio as a safe hiding space, but there is not a home in Northern Ohio that sex offenders who prey on children can hide,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. “Even in times of uncertainty in our communities the citizens should know that their streets are safe due to the hard work of our teams and the strong partnership with our local departments.”
