CANAAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 34-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash in Canaan Township in Wayne County Saturday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 8:48 a.m. on State Route 83 and State Route 604 intersection.
Timothy Pryor, 34, of Jeromesville, died as a result of the crash, authorities said.
OSHP said that Pyror was heading east on State Route 604 in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze when he failed to yield at the stop sign. His vehicle was hit by a 2016 Jeep Cherokee that was heading north on State Route 83.
The impact caused both vehicles to go off the road and into a nearby field.
Pryor was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
The Jeep’s driver, a 71-year-old man from Louisville, Ohio, was transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, OSHP said. He was wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.
The matter remains under investigation.
