CLEVELAND — A Minerva man was killed in a two-car crash Thursday evening in Wayne County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 5:53 p.m. on U.S. Route 250 in East Union Township.

Daniel P. Cruise, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to OSHP.

Authorities say Cruise was driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue east on U.S. Route 250 when he went left of center and hit a 2015 Ford Fusion head on that was going in the opposite direction.

The Ford's 26-year-old driver was flown to Akron City Hospital for treatment. She was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred, OSHP said.

The matter remains under investigation.
