WOOSTER, Ohio — A Wayne County man wanted on child pornography charges was arrested early Tuesday morning after a standoff in Wooster.

Dennis E. Horn, 69, of Smithville, is charged with knowingly receiving and distributing visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and knowingly possessing or accessing with intent to view child pornography, according to the Cleveland Division of the FBI.

The standoff began Monday evening at home on East Smithville Western Road between Geyers Chapel and Honeytown roads, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said. Horn was taken into custody by law enforcement at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, an FBI spokesperson confirmed.

According to the FBI, an investigation into Horn’s alleged activities was opened on Jan. 11 after it was discovered that his IP address was used to upload exploitative material containing children to the internet.

A warrant was issued for his arrest last week.

Authorities haven’t released any additional details surrounding his arrest.
