A Mt. Eaton police officer was injured while directing traffic late Saturday night.

Around 11:09 p.m., a man was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze on US 250 when he approached a flashing traffic light at State Route 94, hitting the officer, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and did not receive any injuries.

No arrests have been made and officials said the driver stopped when the crash happened.

Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in this crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
