WOOSTER, Ohio — Three people have been identified as suspects in the beating of two homeless men sleeping outside Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster last week.

Authorities have not released the names of the individuals or their possible charges.

The attack happened on July 24.

According to police, the 33-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were awoken by three teens who approached and started throwing rocks at them. The teens then took turns striking the men with baseball bats.

Both of the men were hurt and one required medical attention, according to a church official.

The attack was caught on a security camera.

The Wooster Police Department said it kept a "strong overt and covert presence" near the church following the attacks to possibly locate the suspects, but it was tips from the public who ultimately led police to identifying the individuals.
