PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — Pepper Pike Police are warning residents about a suspicious man caught prowling around homes very early in the morning.
“There’s been somebody out, usually between three and four in the morning, walking through woods to get to houses,” said Pepper Pike Det. Sgt. Karl Dietz.
Security cameras from several homes captured images of the man lurking around homes, including a camera on the home of one woman who asked not to be identified.
“I didn’t sleep the rest of the night. I told everybody to keep the doors locked and I put cameras all around the house to be safe,” she explained.
Pepper Pike Police believe the same man has been captured on cameras in surrounding suburbs as well and are working with several neighboring police departments to try and put a name to the face.
Pepper Pike Police posted the images on their Facebook page. “We have received a few calls of just footprints around the yard, not to just the gas meter but to the back picture window looking into the home and out around a shed that was locked,” Dietz explained.
Police are reminding residents to lock cars, homes and outdoor buildings and asking that if anything looks suspicious, including footprints in the snow to call the Pepper Pike Police Department at 216-831-1424.
