CLEVELAND — Several students at New Tech High School East in Cleveland are learning how to be journalists.
The high school juniors now know how to spot fake news articles, research a topic to report and even how to shoot, write and edit a news package.
The students have been learning about media for quite some time during their after school program, and News 5 recently introduced them to the journalism side of things.
Together with the students, we took on National News Literacy Week, an inaugural initiative to help people discern fact from fiction initiated by our parent company E.W. Scripps.
