The Lakewood Fire Department received several calls Wednesday night about a strange smell near Madison Avenue.
According to Lakewood Fire Department Asst. Chief Nick Sambula, calls started rolling in around 8:30 p.m.
Sambula said callers reported smelling either lighter fluid, propane or jet fuel.
Cleveland Hopkins Airport was checked and the EPA has been notified.
The source of the odor has not been determined.
