AVON LAKE, Ohio — A woman from Avon Lake woman is on a mission to spread love and kindness in her neighborhood.
Dubbed the “Heart Fairy” by her neighbors and friends, Lori Burke drives around with her mother delivering hearts in the neighborhood.
"Just spread love. I'm not taking any money. I don't want any money for these. That's very very important to me because you can't buy love. So I really just want people to spread joy, start making hearts yourself," Burke said.
Her messaged has traveled far, inspiring others to create hearts and hang them on trees, fences and windows to let others know there are happier times ahead.
She started a Facebook group for the movement called “I Spy a Heart in Avon Lake(ish)” where dozens of others are stepping up to fulfill requests.
Her movement has expanded far beyond Avon Lake, with hearts sent to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and even Africa.
