NEW RICHMOND, Ohio — An Ohio dog is competing to become the next Cadbury Bunny and he needs your votes.
Lieutenant Dan, a two-legged treeing walker coonhound from New Richmond, Ohio, is a finalist in the Cadbury Bunny competition as the company looks for the star of their upcoming Easter commercial.
The pet that wins the contest has the opportunity to score a role in a reboot of the classic Cadbury Bunny Easter commercial as well as a cash prize of $5,000. The winner is determined by America’s vote.
Lieutenant Dan’s owners, who adopted him from a rescue, describe him as having a “joy for life that is infectious and inspiring” and despite being born different, said he hasn’t been slowed down one bit.
The pup is already a star, with nearly 3,000 followers on the Instagram account created for him.
Voters can cast their ballot in the Cadbury Bunny competition once a day until March 18.
