Infant found in Detroit hours after Portage Co. authorities issue missing child alert

RAVENNA, Ohio — A 3-month-old boy was found in Detroit, Michigan hours after Portage County authorities announced him as missing Friday afternoon.

The 3-month-old boy was taken by his parents after an order giving the Portage County Children's Service temporary custody of the child was issued on Wednesday, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office. His parents were supposed to bring the child to the Portage County Juvenile Court on Thursday. He was located safe in Detroit and recovered by authorities.

The sheriff's office thanked the public for their assistance in locating the missing child.
