UPDATE: The missing girl has been found safe, according to Cleveland police.

Police were searching for a 13-year-old girl who went missing after her mother dropped her off at a police station and left, according to Cleveland police.

Around 12 p.m., officers received a call to respond to the 16000 block of Euclid Beach Boulevard for a missing girl, police said.

The girl's mother told police she had taken her daughter to the Fifth District Police Station in order to teach her a lesson about her behavior, according to police.

The girl’s mother then drove around the area for about 10 minutes before returning to the station, but she was not there, police said.
