The third and final supermoon of 2019 is set to be seen on Wednesday, just ahead of the official start of spring in the U.S.

The next supermoon won't rise again until Feb. 9, 2020, accuweather.com says.

What is a supermoon? It's simply when the moon appears larger than a normal full moon.

Wednesday's supermoon will appear just a few hours after the Vernal Equinox, which signals the changing of the seasons around the world: The transition of winter to spring in the Northern Hemisphere and summer to fall in the Summer Hemisphere.

Vernal Equinox: Occurs at 5:58 p.m. Eastern March 20

Supermoon: Becomes visible at 9:43 p.m. Eastern March 20
