Police in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, helped make the holidays easier for a young boy dealing with tragedy.

According to the Fitchburg, Massachusetts Police Department, 4-year-old JJ lost his mother when she was murdered earlier this year. JJ now lives with his grandparents a few miles away.

To help keep his spirits up during his first Christmas without his mom, officers decided to throw him a party he'll never forget.

According to a Facebook post by the Fitchburg Police Department, JJ "loves anything to do with police." So on Sunday, a parade of squad cars drove down his street — some of which were packed with gifts, including a new bike.

More than a dozen officers — including the department's K-9 officer — showed up for JJ's Christmas party.
