Police reported singer Chris Brown is a suspect in a battery and theft at the Palms hotel-casino in Las Vegas Saturday morning, just hours after his concert on the Strip.
Police said the incident was reported around 10:20 a.m. Brown, 26, has not been arrested.
Police said they responded to the hotel where they contacted a woman who appeared to have minor injuries sustained as a result of a battery. Investigators determined the woman was attending a party in the Palms hotel room.
According to police, the altercation took place over a cell phone when the woman went to take a photo of Brown. The woman alleged that she was battered by Brown, who also allegedly took her cell phone. Police said a verbal altercation took place as the woman was escorted out of the room and into the hallway by private security.
The woman was escorted off property by hotel security following the hallway disturbance, police said. A short time later, the woman returned to the Palms to report the incident to hotel security.
Detectives attempted to contact Brown in the hotel room, but were not permitted entry. It was later determined the singer had left the location prior to the officers' arrival.
As of 6 p.m. Saturday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department had not heard from Brown regarding the incident and the investigation remains ongoing.
Brown had a scheduled performance at Drai's Nightclub at The Cromwell hotel-casino Friday night.
Brown was sentenced to probation for six years after the assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. He has been involved in several other altercations since then.
