Comedian edits video to create Weird Arby's Guy

In 2011, a Julie Banovic — a former news reporter for sister station WXYZ in Detroit — did a story about a car smashing through an Arby's in Royal Oak. That story is back in the limelight again after a YouTube comedian edited himself in the story as an Arby's employee.

The story starts off normal with a quote from someone inside. Then, the comedian (identified as Andrew Bowser in the video), shows up.

"I thought perhaps the end of days was upon us. But it turned out it was just a disoriented old lady in a champagne-colored Toyota Avalon, crashing into my world like DNB circa 1996," Bowser said.

"I woke up this morning and my phone was blowing up with text messages from people sending me the link, I got a kick out of it," Banovic said. "I now work in social media so I can appreciate a video going viral!"

"You can check out the hilarious video below, or by clicking here.

The video was posted on Thursday and already has nearly 200,000 views. It has also been picked up and shared by numerous websites.

It isn't the first time Bowser has edited himself into a Detroit television station's story. Last month, he appeared as a "weird satanist guy" in a WDIV story on the satanic statue unveiling in Detroit.

Just in case you'd like to see the original story, you can watch it below without his quotes.

"It's all fun, but I'm glad no one was seriously hurt," Banovic added.

The "Weird Arby's Guy" video is one of several hilarious videos Bowser has posted on his YouTube page.
