Are you registered to vote?
In the state of Ohio, you have to be registered to vote by Oct. 9 to vote in the November election. That's one week away.
You can register to vote online, in person or by mail.
In order to register to vote in the state of Ohio you must:
- be an American citizen.
- turn 18 years old before the election or on election day.
- be a resident of Ohio at least 30 days before the election.
- not be currently incarcerated. If you were previously incarcerated you are allowed to vote but you must register again.
According to Jon Husted, only 40 percentof registered voters went to the polls and voted during the last midterm election. In 2017, only 30 percent of voters voted during the off-year election.
