COLUMBUS, Ohio — Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced on Wednesday that he will not be running for Senate in 2022.
Husted said that after contemplating on running for Senate over the last 48 hours, he wants to keep his current position and hopes to run for governor in the future.

Husted's announcement comes after Republican Senator Rob Portman announced that he won't be running for re-election next year.
