CLEVELAND — Sherrod Brown announced that he is launching a "Dignity of Work" Tour.
The tour will launch later this month and make stops in Ohio, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina.
Brown is visiting these states to talk to others about their working conditions.
“Dignity of work means hard work should pay off for everyone, no matter who you are or what kind of work you do. When work has dignity, everyone can afford health care, education and housing. They have power over their schedules and the economic security to start a family, pay for daycare and college, take time off to care for themselves or their families when they are sick, and save for retirement,” Brown said. “The dignity of work is a value that unites us all. It's what I fight for every day representing the people of Ohio and it’s what we will fight for together on this tour around the country.”
The tour will kick off in Cleveland on Jan. 30, and then head to Iowa on Jan. 31.
A spokesperson for the Republican National Committee said in a statement that Brown is only going on tour to promote himself.
"Sherrod Brown is traveling to 2020 states for one reason - to promote his own self-serving ambitions. While Brown likes to promote his fake-populist agenda, the facts tell a different story. Time and time again, Brown has sided with the far-left fringes of his party over a pro-workers' agenda - he voted against tax cuts, he votes against cutting regulations, and he votes against President Trump's agenda that has helped workers in Ohio get back to work and provide for their families," RNC Spokesperson Mandi Merritt said.
