Another sports star showed some serious gratitude to South Florida restaurant workers with a sizable tip.
Che Restaurant in Delray Beach posted Sunday on Instagram that one of their waitresses recently received a $1,000 tip on a $164.25 check from Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond.
Drummond and his family came in for a bite to eat. Waitress Kasandra Diaz seated and served the two-time NBA all-star and said they stayed for no more than two hours. Once they were finished eating, she said Drummond handed her the check book.
Diaz wasn't aware of who is was.
"And I took to go put it into the machine to close their table out. And I looked at it and I was astonished. I couldn't believe it, I froze for a second. I thought, is this real? A thousand dollars," she added.
Kasandra went to her manager which is required for such a large amount.
"She came to me and I said go back to the table and check just in case he was wrong you know," Manager Joes Diaz said.
Diaz tracked down Drummond.
"I went to Mr. Andre and I said, 'Is this correct? And he goes, yes, that's correct.' And I just showed my appreciation. I was like, thank you so much, I appreciate it. He said, no problem."

Restaurants and their employees have been severely impacted by shutdowns due to the coronavirus, so the generous tip was greatly appreciated.
"It’s so amazing to see people displaying acts of kindness in these uncertain times," the waitress said in her post.
The restaurant said on Facebook that "humbleness and generosity is not trained, comes from a great heart."
So the obvious question is, what is she going to do with the money?
"I just graduated high school and I'm going to college, so I will be putting it towards college and I hope to pay it forward soon," Diaz said.
