Richmond Heights has dozens of tires slashed

Richmond Heights police are searching for the vandals responsible for slashing the tires on several vehicles parked at the Dorchester Village Apartments.

Police told newsnet5.com at least eight cars were hit, some of the vehicles had more than one tire flattened, a truck had all four tires vandalized.

Unfortunately the cars victimized were just outside the view of the apartment complex video surveillance system.

Richmond Heights Police Sergeant Denise DeBiase said it's not clear if the incident was a random act.

"It just seemed like they were picking out cars for absolutely no reason," said DeBiase.

"It's possible that somebody was singled out, and then they just wanted to make it look like everybody else had been hit. However there are a lot of victims in this circumstance and a lot of people that just didn't deserve that."

Dorchester Village victim Loreal Sylvertooth explained her Chrysler 300 was hit the vandalism spree. She's hoping the complex will improve parking lot surveillance.

"It's pretty horrible,' said Sylvertooth.  "I had to go to work and 6 a.m. so I ended up losing a day of work."

Richmond Heights police are asking anyone with information about this case to contact the police department at 216-486-1234.
