CATAWBA ISLAND, Ohio — The U.S. Coast Guard located the body of a 65-year-old man who went missing in the water of Lake Erie near Gem Beach Marina in Catawba Island Sunday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m., authorities received a call that a man went missing while swimming in the lake with his family, according to the Coast Guard.
The search was called off around 4:35 p.m. after the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of the man, authorities said.
The man’s identity has not been released at this time.
