TOLEDO, Ohio — Ohio Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur was evaluated at a hospital Wednesday after a backhoe hit her windshield while she was driving through a construction zone in Toledo.
“Today, Congresswoman Kaptur was driving East on W Bancroft St. in Toledo in a single lane, construction zone when a backhoe operating in the adjoining lane swung over into the lane reserved for through traffic and hit her windshield on the driver’s side,” Kaptur’s office said in a statement.
Following the incident, Kaptur was examined at a local hospital. She is reportedly “doing well and will resume her normal schedule in the morning.”
