Multiple passengers on an amusement ride were temporarily stuck in midair on the opening day of the Ohio State Fair Wednesday.

According to ABC 6 (WSYX), Will Kerr caught the incident on video. Kerr said he saw a hose underneath the "Free Fall" ride blow out.

Ride operators said the ride functioned as intended and stopped with the passengers in place when a "variance of air pressure" was detected, WSYX reported. The passengers were safely lowered back to the ground and the ride underwent maintenance.

Last year one person died and several others were seriously injured when a ride malfunctioned.
