Second victim of Ohio State fair Fire Ball ride incident dies

An 18-year-old who was critically injured last year at the Ohio State Fair has died from liver failure after getting sick, according to the teen's attorney.

Jennifer Lambert was hurt when the Fire Ball ride broke apart on the fair's opening day on July 26, 2017, WSYX ABC-6 reported.

Lambert died at a Columbus hospital on Friday. She had been in the hospital since the accident. 

Lambert is the second person to die from injuries sustained during the incident. Jarrell Taylor, 18, died last year. He had enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was planning on becoming a combat engineer, according to WSYX ABC-6. Several other people were also injured.

An investigation into the ride revealed there was a past history of structural fatigue and cracks that may have contributed to the incident.
