CLEVELAND — The Ohio Department of Transportation released a video Monday showing what it's like to be a worker on the highway while vehicles zoom by in construction zones and in areas where emergency vehicles are parked.
The video shows a worker going about his or her day doing road repairs on the highway as cars drive past.
This video puts you in a highway worker’s shoes: Every day, our highway technicians must concentrate on both their jobs and live traffic just feet away. For everyone’s safety, slow down and move over when you see them working. #MoveOverMonday pic.twitter.com/yxIKnVmueR

ODOT coined the video as #MoveOverMonday to bring awareness about the importance of Ohio's Move Over law.
Ohio law requires all drivers to move over one lane when passing any vehicle with flashing or rotating lights parked on the roadside. If moving over isn't possible, drivers are expected to slow down.
From 2013 to 2017, OSHP cruisers were involved in 58 crashes that appear to be related to the move over law. Those crashes resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injured 24 officers and 34 civilians.
