CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Opening a business during a pandemic is challenging enough. Doing it just months after graduating high school is a feat in itself—but one teen in Cuyahoga Falls did just that.

Marvin Montgomery Jr., graduated high school last year, and less than six months after receiving his diploma he decided to open Kicks ‘n Cuts.

The unique establishment is a mix between a barbershop and a retail store that sells shoes and clothes.

Montgomery, who briefly attended John Carroll University before deciding to focus on Kicks ‘n Cuts, said he wants to show kids that not everyone has to take the same path to find success.

“It's okay to be different and maybe go into a workforce, or go into the service, open your own business, be yourself, do something that you'll enjoy,” Montgomery said. “It's not always about the money. If you're doing something you love, the money will come for sure."

Kicks ‘n Cuts is currently hiring, looking for licensed barbers to add to their team.

The business is located at 4111 State Road in Cuyahoga Falls. To learn more about it, click here.
